Longtime friends Christian Mejia & Gabriel Acosta always talked about being entrepreneurs. Having worked a number of physically demanding jobs through high school and college, specifically for moving companies, the two set their sights on establishing a moving company after college. After a day of binge watching the popular Netflix series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, the two were struck with a better idea. Instead of starting a moving business, why not create a service that helps people tidy up their homes and declutter? That’s how Tidy-Up Junk Removal was founded in the summer of 2020.

The two put together some cash and purchased a trailer, hauling it around metro Atlanta with a pickup truck. They slapped a magnet on both sides of the truck and drove around looking for people to help. To their surprise, there were a lot more people looking to get rid of junk then they imagined. After a couple months of excruciatingly hot work days, they managed to buy a truck, got it wrapped, and legitimized the business.

Fast forward a year later, the two have built a 5-star rated company on google that includes a team of employees and hundreds of customers with smiles on their faces. Tidy-Up Junk Removal is now a full service junk removal company that specializes in residential and commercial services, such as furniture removal, appliance removal, construction debris removal, and entire home and office cleanouts, to list a few.

Because the people of metro Atlanta have been so good to them, they make it their mission to give back to the community by donating and responsibly recycling the items they come across on the job. Tidy-Up Junk Removal considers themselves to be more than just a junk removal company — they are in the business of making people happy.
